After decades of "don't trust Wikipedia, anybody can edit it", we're going to move into an era of "don't trust things. Find curated sources with trustworthy curators. Wikipedia is a good starting place." I will teach everybody in the world the word "epistemology" even if it kills me.

Even with all of the push back, I think we are still greatly *underestimating* the damage that this current "AI" tech is doing. We were actually doing a respectable job of cataloging human knowledge and making it accessible to people. Now we are actively polluting it and making it useless.

Fucking fuck Google to the fucking moon and back. I searched for a Scientific American article and got an AI summary that had an error in almost every single sentence, starting with the date being off by a decade.

Er nokon her ekspertar på romartal? Eg treng hjelp til å lesa årstalet under. Nokre les det 1581 (MDLXXXI), andre meiner det er 1681 (MDLLLXXXI). Dei tolkar dei to vassrette strekane nedst på M-en som L-ar. Er det vanleg å skriva LLL (50+50+50) der ein kunne ha skrive CL (100+50)?
