I hope nobody tries to compare this mess with Biden. If Biden can’t complete his four year term, Kamala Harris is his successor. If Sanders can’t complete his SIX YEAR term, he will be replaced by the VT governor, who is currently a Republican. So, what is this man doing?

He's not primarying Joe Biden for President, he's running for reelection to his Senate seat.

This response doesn’t have anything to do with my post. But, okay.

Yeah, looks like I misunderstood you. My bad!

The Governor of Vermont Phil Scott, who would probably be a Democrat in any other state, has pledged to appoint a Democrat for Sanders' seat if that seat is vacant. Take that as you like www.sevendaysvt.com/OffMessage/a...

Exactly! I'll take the experienced SF DA, CA AG, US Sen all day long

I think Sanders has done enough to help Democrats. they can handle this one on their own
Avatar
Do the Democrats run someone against him ever?
Avatar
How does that make sense? Why on earth would Democrats waste limited resources fighting Bernie Sanders in a Democratic primary, let alone the general?
Avatar
Because then they could get an actual Democrat in the seat. But those post offices aren’t going to rename themselves. I admit I just want to see him lose.
Avatar
You raise an interesting question. I don't know enough about VT fed elections, but given that Barry's not a dem, wouldn't that make the primary wide open?
Avatar
What in particular don’t you like? My Bernie knowledge is really superficial. I liked some of what he said back in the 2016 primary but that’s all I know. I was overseas at the time, so not much US news.

lol. thought it was "blue no matter who" with you guys

he should be running for reelection as president and then no one would have to worry about Trump. No thanks to Obama, Clyburn, Warren, Buttigieg, Harris, Beto, or Klobuchar.
Avatar
There we go. I was waiting on the take that age only matters to people not named Bernie Sanders, the Independent Senator from Vermont who was robbed of the nomination in 2016 and 2020.
Avatar
The world ended in 2016 and we’re merely living in a deteriorating timeloop

Them: “81 is too old. Biden should step aside.” Also them: “At 82 Bernie is just getting started. I hope he runs forever.”

It's called he isn't visually disoriented like half the time and we've seen him awake past 7

Ah yes. The Ruth Bader Ginsburg approach. That worked so well.
Avatar
peak of his power, huh, what, did he take part in naming two post offices this year?

He pre-dates the Boomers.
Avatar
Thats fine. He's one of the few politicians that gets pissed about issues and I appreciate that.
Avatar
Same. Plus it means there are officially no good Boomers in Congress lol
Avatar
Ah, shit. What an unexpected plot twist. 😂😂
Avatar
But a good one, at that. 😂

Love him, but he deserves rest.

This generation refuses to let go
No no no - why can't the elderly self regulate. Sure he's reasonably healthy - but that doesn't mean 6 more years of it -NOR should the state and party pin their hopes on his next 6 years.

Every senator is at the peak of their power when they leave. Congress is not a meritocracy.
Avatar
Avatar
no wonder he suddenly went against Israel the moment the polls came through
Avatar
Bernie adamantly opposes term limits, even going so far as to call the term limits “undemocratic.”
Avatar
Term limits for elected officials are undemocratic. Plenty of other Western Countries don't have them. Term limits for appointed officials are a whole different story.
Avatar
We don't have term limits in Canada and we're not a gerontocracy.
