wow RIP to a great one. I loved watching his show and he seemed like such a good person. He did a lot of charity that was never in the press. I hope it finds its way into his obits.

I am from New Orleans. I used to work a Bougie local Grocery Store called Breaux Mart in the late 80's. His mother would come in dressed in track suit once a week to go shopping. Sometimes he would show up with her. Both were unfailing kind.

Around a decade ago I went through airport security just ahead of him at LAX. He was in workout gear and had a radiant energy about him, soaking up all the attention he could. He seemed to be a very sweet soul. RIP Richard

Not good. I remember heading back home from my Disneyland trip and seeing on TV at the train station that he’d reunited with a lost loved one after Hurricane Katrina. I also remember my mom had his videotapes when I was a kid. RIP to a legend 🎀
