One thing that worries me: I know the ruzzian leadership makes irrational decisions. But still, if they decided that they have enough people/meat to throw at Avdiivka, it should mean they feel confident about their ability to defend elsewhere?

Use your shit troops to launch attacks tying up UKR forces,not expecting any success. Save whatever 'better' troops you have for when they're really needed. Remember,Ruzzia has to defend everywhere. UKR has to attack somewhere.🙂

Hey Phillips, haven't had a chance yet to read your latest substack; apologies if you address this there but: it seems the Ukrainians are not making Tokmak- gains fast enough to block the supply routes over land to Crimea. Would you agree with that and if so: does a winter stalemate become likely?

No problem. Putin press-gangs ever more ethnic minorities and convicts into service as disposable single-use soldiers. For centuries, this has always been the Russian way. And Russsian matériel production is up, unlike in Europe, also thanks to non-enforced pseudo-sanctions.
