You get all kinds but if you use the small golden effigy, you’ll eventually get pulled in to someone’s game. You’re usually helping someone with a boss, but sometimes you’ll go through a whole level. Watch out for enemy invaders. There’s also an etiquette some people follow but it’s not required.

Etiquette only really comes up if you end up getting summoned to someone who is hosting one on one duels, then there is a loose etiquette about whether or not duelists should heal or when the fight should start. But proper duels are rare right now as people play the main game and dlc again.

Thanks, I'll look for that. All the same I don't mind TRYING to help people on Radagon or Malenia but that does seem to be too high a percent of the places I get summoned to so I'd like more variety.

I'm currently level 190ish but I'm currently just open to a few friends or some discord folks. I do random co-op though so if you ever see wild witch psu that's me.

How do you do that? I've been trying to figure that out but it's still a little opaque how.

I've definitely put in a lot of hours in Elden Ring multiplayer, possibly almost as many as I've done solo. I just think the addition of allowing your summon sign to show up anywhere in the game that you've been is such a delightful game mode. It's like an endless challenge run to help random people

Sure, maybe I get summoned too many times by players that need help beating Malenia or Radagon compared to helping people with tricky dungeons but it's still be a nice way to revisit old stomping grounds and gaining worry free runes for your time.

That little potential to GANK at the very end did keep me looking over our shoulders but it's just the guy with the pot on their head doing the cheer emote. Multiplayer in this game is a hoot. I kinda just love jumping into other people's games to help out in tough spots.

Just had an "invader" pop into my friend and me doing co-op with a giant jar on their head, and all they did was hang back and cheer us on as we beat up some bosses. It's a weird, special game.

"Lay out your arms, lets get smithing." gets sadder every time I hear it. "I see. You're here for some spirit tuning..."

I might be getting old but seeing a jelly belly bag that doesn't have any evil flavors in it made me think people could stand to toughen up...

Maybe the world is full of too many horrors that we're exposed to, more than anyone is supposed to psychologically bear, that we should be able to find some safe comfort in a bag of jelly beans is not an unreasonable ask.

Yeah I saw this ad too. If it helps at all it seems like even Microsoft is starting to see the AI push is backfiring. The built in AI in new windows 11 PCs is starting to be changed to an internet only app which distances it further from the core systems like they advertised months back.
