Everyone knows their boss is fucking them over, so why in the name that is all that’s holy would you vote for the guy your boss votes for?

imagine how much great art could have been created if we took a fraction of the money spent on getting computers to make shitty art and gave it to actual artists

Bauhaus’s cover of Ziggy Stardust is more Bowie than the Bowie version. Flipping that over, Nouvelle Vague’s cover of Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus is in some ways creepier than Bauhaus’.

I’d be remiss if I also didn’t mention Wild Horses which the version by The Flying Burrito Brothers is legally a cover, but i absolutely believe Gram wrote it and the Stones took it. youtu.be/nV5ncVn15y0?...

So a murder of crows, a colony of beavers, a coalition of cheetahs, and a conspiracy of Scoobys?

Art! From HeroesCon 2017, I’m pretty sure I still owe @gavinguidry.bsky.social profuse thanks for absolutely killing it with my request for a Steranko inspired Bucky Cap.

Don't get too excited, it was Elon himself trying to find a date.

Such an incredible run. Seriously, I don’t know how Jimmy managed to get the artists on Hex that he did.

The Outlaw Territory anthology - lots of fun and has everything from dark comedy to tragedy. Vigilante: City Lights, Prairie Justice by Robinson and Tony Salmons - gorgeous book featuring DC's take on Roy Rogers Reed Gunther by Shane and Chris Houghton is a Western in the vein of Pecos Bill

The Long Haul by Johnston and Barreto - there's a train robbery at the center of the story and that doesn't even begin to go into how great this book is.
Avatar
Finally and of course, Jonah Hex by Gray, Palmiotti and a cavalcade of stars - consistently one of the best Westerns ever put out. All Star Western isn't as strong, but the finale with Darwyn Cooke's pencils really ties Jonah's story up with a neat bow.

That's awesome! I'm always curious as to how very specific sketchbooks like this one are put together.

So I have to ask - for the frames are you supplying the artist with a specific reference? Giving them just a general idea and or description and telling them to go wild?

I was incredibly over One Week back in the 90s, but season three of What We Do In The Shadows kind of got it stuck in my head again.

Yeah, I thought it could go either way, but IMDB and pretty much every other source specifically describes it as syrup chugging. I stand corrected!

Yup. A very easy mistake to make. And I say this as someone who has a picture of the WW II diver hanging on my wall.

Oh dang! This sounds like an issue that needs to be resolved!

With HeroesCon almost here I'm realizing I never shared this piece by @mellon.bsky.social and colorist Matt Wilson. Kevin's self published Suicide Sisters is an over the top neo Western which made him such a great match for Vigilante. Wilson's colors skew to Western vistas so again, easy decision.

If you're a normal person, you just skip the tracks that don't work. If you’re me, you adjust the MP3s in the soundtrack to match the original release dates and update the album artwork. And then you recreate the soundtrack as a playlist.   Anyway, what did you do with your Monday night? [4/4]
