I pulled my sourdough starter out of the fridge for the first time in months this weekend and homemade bread is always so good, but homemade sourdough feels even more magical than homemade bread with commercial yeast.
Last Shabbas some friends and I came to the agree that broccoli should be roasted in almost all situations, and the exception is steamed broccoli with certain Asian-style dishes. Tonight called for steamed broccoli.
The leftovers from hosting on shabbas are the best leftovers. Delicious food that lets me reflect on how nice it was to have friends in my home for a meal without our phones! This is a squash and kale lasagna.
