Allosaurus fragilis was named in 1877, from a smattering of bones including part of a humerus, three vertebrae, a tooth, a toe bone, and part of a rib. Its name simply means “fragile different lizard.” I wonder what its name would’ve been if 19th century paleontologists saw the whole thing first.

Just finished Necrobane, Book 2 of The Warden series by @soundingline.bsky.social . Really good characters in a well-built fantasy world. Very much enjoyed it. Book 3 pre-ordered.
