they really dont! like our experiences are completely foreign to each other and i think if 1) we talked about this more & 2) cis people thought about their gender for once in their life, it would be better
us talking about our experiences more is why i wrote a transmasc psychological thriller to begin with. i just didn't see my nonbinary-ass adult transmasc experiences being put out into the ether.
yes. cis people [and us] would be way better off if they questioned their gender at least once.
yes like with all this scrutiny I'm like "ARE there as many cis people out there as we thought??"
(my personal answer is gender isn't actually real but we as a society are extremely not ready for that)
gender is as fake as money, we made it up, and i really think there are way fewer truly cis people than most think. like a scale for gender à la the kinsey scale would be interesting, and i think most people would be a 1 or 2 on it
One of the reasons I don’t get all the fearmongering about “making” people question their gender identity is that I did question it, really thought about it, and very quickly arrived at “yeah, no, even taking away societal standards I feel like a dude”
yes! and as soon as I started really thinking about it I quickly realized I was doing backflips to be "girl" so something was up! and that's scary but okay.
this may be controversial but i think there are at least a few tervs who are way less cis than they think. a kind of “well i found a way to force myself to fit into the box they shoved me in, why cant you!!!” thing
