Gut wrenching watching these parents beg for the return of their son who has been held hostage for a year to "stop the despair in Gaza. There is a surplus of agony on all sides. In a competition of pain there are no winners. Every person is an entire universe. We must save all these universes."

ask me how much of my writing advice i integrate into my own work. some of it reads like word salad, seriously. but i think you never perfect writing, even if you know what’s effective? you only practice it. like a sport: i know the ball goes into the hoop, but it takes work to do it.

Been thinking of late how the people around us--family, community--sometimes simply do not want to hear/know how chronic illness is harming you, because it upsets them, and sometimes you end up telling them comfortable white lies they would rather hear because its simply easier "Yes, Im fine"

Get yourself writing buddies you can think differently with, it's gold dust for you both/all. I think this *every* time I work with someone else. The same goes for beta-reading other people's work: it's fun and you get to learn and it helps you think better about your own stuff!

i've learned so much from talking my best friend through his creative knots! i don't mean solving them for him, more it's just that thinking creatively about someone else's work uses different brain muscles than thinking about your own, and it's totally en-strengthening in the grand scheme of things

the “good migrant” myth a lot of you are pushing helps keep things like the Hostile Environment in its place, it sets a standard that there are “undesirable” migrants which puts so many people in danger

thinking about the olympics stuff and “entrenched transphobia will come for cis people” is definitely true but it does certainly suck that “trans people deserve your solidarity” isn’t enough of an argument to get cis people mobilized

Puberty blockers. Cass didn’t suggest a ban. Outgoing Con minister did it anyway (no parliamentary scrutiny). But *only for trans kids*. Wes Streeting intends to make the ban permanent. Since NHS England discontinued their use in 2020, 16 trans kids under NHS care have taken their own lives.

I will repeat myself. In the absence of a ceasefire deal *this summer*, the displacement of close to two million Palestinians in Gaza (and beyond it) could very likely become permanent ethnic cleansing. Just like it happened in 1948.
