Have you noticed that English people (not all English speakers, just English people) pronounce "sixth" as "sikth", turning the x into a k, and often making the "th" at the end almost inaudible? I thought it was just one announcer but now I hear it everywhere. I dunno if this is new or old behavior.

If someone likes a piece of art that I do not, I will not try to convince them they are wrong. I used to, but no more. Why would I want to reduce the amount of joy in the world? There isn't enough as it is.

I started yesterday by reading about Flannery O’Connor and ended yesterday by reading about Patricia Highsmith. Two great mid 20th century women writers I would absolutely fucking never want to be in the same room with.
