I grew up in a desert (think: lots of dry brush, a tinder box) & some part of town burned down almost every year. They still wouldn't outlaw buying fireworks. One year the stand itself went up in flames really close to my house. I think big displays are beautiful but at the cost of a wildfire?

People on my town's community page literally telling each other that it's okay to set off aerial fireworks despite it being against the law.

our town banned them after the 2020 almeda fire. first quiet 4th of my lifetime and i’m pushing 70. doggies loved it.

I'm genuinely afraid of how many people would lose their shit if someone postured about taking their fireworks away

Had a total of five yes five booms on the forth. I was shocked to say the least. Normally its WW3 on the forth here.
