cw: weight loss stuff
I'm on meds to lose weight to prevent damage to my spine & relatives who've bullied me about it since I was a kid- have gained weight recently & been like "so, it's actually really hard to lose." Like yeah, fucking duh, maybe you shouldn't have bullied a 7 year old, dipshits.
yeah, I have extremely severe scoliosis + kyphosis and just getting the weight off of my spine will help a lot and hopefully slow it from continuing to curve so rapidly
It is not a bit of my damn business, so feel free to not answer, but how'd you get a doctor on board and are you willing to mention what meds? I've been in a similar boat my whole life (including the familial bullying) and haven't been able to get a doctor to even acknowledge that there are options.
my family doctor has been trying to get me to lose weight since the first time I met her so honestly I just asked and she gave me the prescription because I need to lose about 200 lbs to get to a "healthy" weight & my ribs are starting to try to crush my lungs a bit with my scoliosis being so severe
People being assholes about weight loss have always seemed weird to me. Our society is largely brutal to people it considers overweight. And yet, that's more than half the adult population. If it wasn't really hard to lose, you'd think it would be a much smaller percentage.
