I know sanitariums had different purposes, but I had mainly associated them with tuberculosis. This is the most unappealing jar of peanut butter ever.

Sanitarium are weet bix. I completely forgot they did peanut butter too. The factory was right on edge of CBD here for years next to the swankiest boys school. The school often smelled like hot weet bix

The school now owns the site and use it for storage and parking overflow

Yep, it’s just salty yeast extract. Left is Aus/NZ, right is UK. The latter is brown, kind of runny like molasses and more bitter; the former is black, a non-runny paste, and tastes much better, and is sadly almost impossible to get in the US.

I had no idea we had something called marmite here. Thought vegemite was our version of Marmite and then knockoffs of that. And its not GF so guess british hubby will be sticking with a rose in every cheek as they have a GF version
