Tulsi, the “Democrat” who Republicans love to invoke as evidence of how “even Democrats think their party has gone off the far left deep end” is now endorsing the Republican opponent of that notorious radical woke leftist, um, Jon Tester of Montana.

At virtually every far right rally or protest I observed in Oregon from 2017 to 2020, the owners of this car were there. And not as disinterested observers.

Seems really unfair to Herbie.

Not wishing anyone harm, but it would be funny if the ghost of Herbie found some way to get revenge, like a falling tree branch while the car was parked on the street?
Since Herbie was a sentient car, maybe they’re also making a statement about AI and the dangers of sentient machines?

Have you seen the one with the giant hypodermic needle on top, or is that just a Eugene thing?

I think so? Rings a bell, but I’ve seen so much kooky shit that it all blends together after a while.

Don’t know any Democratic supporters of Assad but Tulsi.

Tulsi fandom only makes sense thru the lens of "voters whose politics are an incoherent reactionary pastiche but like a woman who's hot" i.e. she's the Democrat version of Sarah Palin

That is the most succinct summation of the Tulsi phenomenon I’ve ever seen. Gonna steal that one.

she did leave the Democratic Party in 2022, however.

She’s now an “independent” who gets gigs at CPAC proving that their appeal extends beyond the GOP.

Transphobia, among other contemptible positions, sells.

she ran as a Dem primary pres candidate in 2016 & 2020 so the label stays sticky

The Gabbard paradox is that she's "telegenic" in the euphemistic meaning of the word - but is absolute death on the mic. Monotone, moralizing, repetitive. I remember watching the energy evaporate when she'd give speeches introducing Bernie in 2020.

She is the only presidential candidate I've ever seen in real life - she gave a speech to a Hindu cultural event in Sydney around 2013. Even then she seemed oddly shy and reserved - which was weird at the time and has gotten weirder as her political persona has gotten wilder.

Most Tulsi fans I knew (at least as late as 2020) were "leftist" Bernie voters whose "leftism" consisted of kneejerk anger at all mainstream Democratic positions. I'm sure Tulsi's looks helped, but the key was their being able to mistake an incoherent reactionary pastiche for leftism.

*former Democrat version, you mean.

Calling Sarah Palin hot is a crime against humanity
