Even going by evolutionary biology rules, the female strategy isn't too attract *all* males, it's to attract males who are worth mating with. To that end, driving away the type of men who have meltdowns over your hairdo is sound evolutionary strategy.
Reminds me of the exchange from a few years back where some dude said women with bright hair colors are exhibiting the trait in nature that indicates they are toxic and harmful, and someone replied that trait is used in nature to warn off predators so obviously it is working.
