It's the opinion section, not news. Op-ed's are universally pointless.

This is why nobody should read the Op-Ed section of any publication anywhere. The NYT is an excellent news organization. As with all opinion sections, theirs is also garbage.

It is a perfectly reasonable thing for human beings to try to convince other people of things or explain their own points of view. Are the people getting paid to write the NYTs dogshit? Absolutely. But its not pointless.

Of course. But nobody has to read it. And nobody should.
