Important penguin news

I don't think I've written a word of fiction since the beginning of the pandemic, but this morning I wrote 87 words. It's a very small step but a good one. (Small steppy is better than no steppy.) (Thanks to @muppetk.bsky.social for the conversation that inspired me.)

Trying to keep this in mind these days. (NGL, it's hard sometimes.)

That's my point here. Do what YOU can. Other people do what they can. Everyone cleans up their tiny corner. Everyone pulls the tiny lever they can pull. We all do this. Don't you see? That's the *point*. We all have to do what small things we can. Do not despair. Do not, I beg of you, despair.

We have reached the "re-checking arrival time for procedure in case I somehow got it wrong the first few times I read it" stage of waiting to leave for a medical appointment. 😬

Look, everything is terrible, I get it. Go scream in a void to get your feels out. But then, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. This fight isn't lost yet. There's still an election to win, and we can still reverse a lot of this fuckery. But we can't do it if we stop at the screaming step.
