I lodged a formal complaint that that thing is undesirable and in my way. I don't presume it'll help but at least it makes me feel better and annoys someone there too

I found out how to turn it off! In the hamburger menu in the top left, there's an option that says something like "disable new acrobat experience." Clicking it reverts Acrobat to the old menu style, no more giant fucking glowing button.

Yeah when I clicked the "revert back to previous version of acrobat" button it linked to a feedback page where I could tell them that AI bullshit is the reason I switched back.
