If you’ve driven staff away through personal mismanagement, and then had to fire 20% of the remaining staff due to personnel mismanagement, maybe don’t run to Forbes and get them to write a fluff piece about the great job you’re doing 😬 (Very specific former employer subtweet)

As a marketer, I’m constantly stunned that the influencer shift can best be described as “I used to really want to be like my favorite musician/actor/athlete but now I look up to people who get FedEx deliveries.” The reality TV effect is one of the few true “disruptors” in the industry. 🤯

I know someone in Louisiana who thinks global warming is something Al Gore invented that “the libs” just picked up and ran with, as if it hasn’t been a known global issue for decades. There’s no reasoning with some people.
Well, it looks like they've cracked the code -- I'm the only reason anyone talks about the Southern Strategy. I dreamed it up on my own, and MSNBC (?) ran with it, and now every Resist Lib is running with it. It's me. I'm the problem.

Not for nothing, but I imagine the overlap between people who agree with Harrison Butker and people who say “America is the greatest country in the world because you can be anything you want to be” is less a Venn Diagram and more a perfect circle.

I had an HR rep at a former club once tell me that employees leave bosses, not positions, and that’s something I wish more bosses were aware of.
I’m going to shout this one out: EMPLOYERS THAT WISH TO RETAIN THEIR WORKERS CAN ALSO COMPETE ON THE MERITS FOR THE WORKER’S LABOR Yes, thank you FTC!!!!

Apparently we’ve gone from “The economy is doing well - here’s why that’s bad for Biden” to “Taylor Swift sold a bajillion copies of her latest album yet again - here’s why that’s a bad sign for her.”
Taylor Swift has been inescapable over the last year. With the release of The Tortured Poets Department, her latest (very long) album, some fans seem to finally be feeling fatigued. nyti.ms/3W6JzWf

@glitterburrito.bsky.social I meant to ask - how was Death Cab? I used to know one of the guys in the band. Did Dave look like he’d run a marathon before the show?

Boy, this seems like a clear-cut case where the people railing against cancel culture on campus will rally to the speaker’s defense and save the day. hang on, my producer is telling me something

Sorry. This is one of those times when you do whatever has to be done to ensure security OTHER THAN cancelling your valedictorian's speech.
USC announced that valedictorian Asna Tabassum’s commencement speech has been canceled, stating it was “necessary to maintain the safety of our campus and students” ‘I am surprised that my own university has abandoned me,’ Tabassum said in a statement

Real shit you can do to support International Women’s Day: • donate to an abortion access fund in a state with limited or no access • donate your local female progressive candidate • donate to DV shelters • NOT hop into a woman’s replies w/excuses why you can’t do the above or any supportive work

@lukefoley.bsky.social don’t mind me, I’m just going to block you for the remainder of the test series while I sit on my couch and cry about what a spineless mess the Black Caps are. 😭😭😭

I’ll also add, as someone who has been through this before, that the people who say “Why can’t they just come in legally like everyone else?” have no idea how much of a hot mess the USCIS system is. Officers don’t know, and struggle to follow, their own rules. What chance does an immigrant have?
Reminder: Undocumented immigrants commit crimes at a much lower rate than American citizens and Republican Presidential candidates. They pay more in taxes than Republican Presidential candidates as well.
Fox News' "migrant crime" hysteria is a sign of GOP weaknesswww.publicnotice.co When you've got nothing else, run on hate.

Back when I was running LSU’s ad campaigns, I earned less than the minimum salary + was told they couldn’t raise my pay due to a salary freeze. While that was going on, our directors gave themselves $10,000 raises + hoped nobody would find out. (The student newspaper outed them.)

I wish I’d had this advice earlier in my career (and been wise enough to listen to it).
My survival tips: 1. Remove email app from your phone. 2. Work a 37.5 hr week. 3. No weekend working. 4. Take your 30 days of holidays. 5. Say no. And when they don’t listen, act no. 6. Not everything is your problem to fix.

It’s fascinating to me how many sports teams post #BlackHistoryMonth  announcements that say “We love the Black community, support Black businesses!” and then a week later, for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, post pics of the women working in their front offices.

I’ll also add (from experience): 1. USCIS sets appointment dates and doesn’t let you change them, and if you don’t show up they consider your application abandoned. 2. When you do show up, their employees often don’t know their own rules - which are often inconsistent. 3. It costs a lot of $$$.
If the border were open, they would be coming legally. Since it's not, here's what "coming legally" looks like. www.cato.org/blog/why-leg...
