Here's a suggestion; We offer Tenacious D asylum here in Oz. They are awesome, their politics are evidently good, and the yank political structure might make it dangerous for them to go home.
My mother agists a native bee hive in her garden. Went out one morning to discover an enterprising golden orb spider had put a web about a metre from the hive, on the final approach vector. That spider was getting a lot of "clicks"!
If Sydney trains insist on putting random acronyms at the end of station names on the rolling display, least they could do is translate them for us.
Sitting on a deserted Newcastle to Central right now, very comfy.

Sitting on my verandah enjoying the full on electrical storm, and my phone beeps after about half an hour of thunder, lightning and rain, at the point where it is winding down.
"severe storm warning"
Uh, yes, thankyou BOM Australia, but you seem to be running a little late....
Stuff I wish Bluesky had:
- Some way to [emph] text (eg italics).
- Alt text reminder set in the "on" position as default.
- Easier to use navigation on the phone app.
Stuff I am glad Bluesky has:
- Hard character count limits.
- The ability to choose between block and mute.
- Alt text.
Watching an American tv show (Bones) and they have a "man-eating gator" which is apparently "enormous" and has eaten a human... and all I can think is my GOD alligators are tiny. How could anything other than a small child fit in that digestive system? I didn't realise how small alligators are.
rewatching Farscape for project research and this show is about 800x better than I remembered. SF pulp TV at its finest. the set design alone is phenomenal, all the actors are overflowing with charisma and chemistry, the practical effects are absolutely choice. what a pleasure
Something seems wrong with the Australian BOM radar predictions this year. It used to predict future radar on storms quite well here in NSW, but this month, it just predicts the storms disappearing the moment the timer goes past the present. Which is rarely the case.
So it turns out all cats look monsterous if you catch them at the right time. Here is Thessa hanging out in the bookcase. I do believe it's the worst photo I've ever taken of her.
"come play with me!"
Disclaimer: Thessa knows she has claws, and doesn't intend to hurt you, but thinks all humans are indestructible. You have been warned.
