Question for #Archaeology BlueSky…listened to a recent History Rage that touched on The Ridgeway (mostly) not being prehistoric, which is not what they taught us in grad school…any good recent research? All the touristy stuff obvs leans in to it being super-old, but happy to hear current thinking!

The Irish Natural History Museum really hasn’t been updated since the 1940s and although they are constantly apologizing for this, really it just means it’s cabinet after cabinet chock full of stuff, with none of your modern “Give exhibits room to breathe, and an interactive component” nonsense.

Picked up a lot of tat yesterday including this LP. Not seen this Irish EMI label before. Disc is in ribbons but couldn’t resist buying.

My aunts Sadie and Lily used to tell us this 😆 They had this whole story about how he fucked up a spell so the East Wind blew him to Ireland where, after many misadventures and being repeatedly proved fool, he threw the mother of all hissyfits and stole a load of sacred stones and ran away home.

My mum taught me they Merlin stole the magic stones from Ireland and used them to build stonehenge Fucking Brits xD
