I lost my door keys once at Hamburg Station. Two years later I discovered I hadn't lost them, I'd lost the pocket on my backpack that they were in.

Friend of mine lost their passport *while on an intl flight*. Long tortuous story involving "you can't have lost it, you checked in w/ it", emergency passport & emergency "you can't leave until we sort this out" accommodations, etc. TLDR: he later found the old ppt stuck to the bottom of his laptop.

Ugh. Managed to leave car keys in room after debarking from a cruise. Searched luggage several times, finally Homeland got a message to the ship and they were found. Spending an additional weekend with no car until a replacement fob could be made would have been a sad end to a great vacation.

I know ive been instructed that comments are not solicitations for advice, but you might be able to make it beep.

My cat loves sitting on top of remotes so much that I keep old dead remotes around as decoys. That way she only has a 1 in 3 chance of interrupting a YouTube documentary on pre-war French bomber design with her dumb furry butt

I have a 6 year old, our Roku remotes existence is as certain as Bigfoot. People say they've seen it, but proof is elusive.

I lost my Roku remote at an Air BnB once. Said if they find it, just set it aside (we visit annually). A week later they mailed us a remote to some other device that must’ve been left by different folks. Then a week later they mailed us the correct one. But the app did get us through the stay.
