I’m sorry to report that I have become one of those old guys who hates the noise of fireworks. I can’t say it’s because of my dog, because I don’t have one. I say let’s bring on the age of drone light shows instead. It just makes sense.

There are two elements to the immunity decision that are particularly extreme in a way that many will miss: (1) motive is irrelevant and (2) immune acts are not just excluded from prosecution, they’re excluded from evidence. /1

1. Activists and journalists complaining that Meta is burying political stories. 2. Activists and journalists complaining that readership is way down for news publications. 3. Activists laughing about how 2. includes huge drops for right wing publications. These 3 things may be connected.

He voted *yesterday* against a Dem bill to protect access to IVF. It is staggering how they just lie brazenly now, knowing they are protected by the media bubble their voters live in.

If you hit "Skip Intro" at the beginning of an episode of "Twin Peaks," what are you even doing? If I ran a streaming video service, I'd make it so that the "Skip Intro" button on "Twin Peaks" just popped up a screen that said, "Sorry, this show isn't for you" and started streaming something else.

Hi, I’m an editor. My greatest hits include “‘Amongst’ is just ‘among’ holding up its pinky when it sips tea” and “Instead of ‘iconic,’ let’s just say ‘famous.’” I once talked a critic into using “deglamorizes”instead of “deglams.” Today, he has two Pulitzers and I don’t.
Hi, I'm an academic librarian! My greatest hits include "Yes, I'm familiar with the Dewey Decimal System," "Academic libraries don't typically use the Dewey Decimal System," "The Dewey Decimal System is kind of genius actually," and "Melville Dewey was pretty much a slimeball."

Hey Twin Cities, if you're curious about what's causing a foul stench in the air, it's because the former president is here today, begging for money -- in the city he says is "out of control."

Internet video: “Which guitar sounds best to you?” (Plays same riff on 5 guitars, but uses so much distortion or chorus that you can’t tell the difference between a Strat and a Les Paul.)

Not that anyone asked me, but I believe fans should not use the word “franchise.” That’s a business term. Fans don’t and shouldn’t care whether a movie or a TV show or whatever is a hit. They shouldn’t care whether the business model makes sense. They should care only if it’s good.
