Cutting pizza into squares is a good idea when you pizza is already a square. See Detroit Style. I feel like cutting it into wedges like a round pizza would be incredibly cursed.
Cutting a lot of other pizzas into squares is also problematic- Chicago, new york, Neapolitan… anything with a crust would be terrible.
But Midwest thin crust tavern style… the only real curse of square cut is that you can somehow eat an entire pizza when it’s just a bunch of little pieces.
I miss the octagon taco pizza from highschool. lol
Thin crust pizza and long narrow wedges do not mix well, especially if there's a lot of toppings. Squares survive from plate to face much better.
Squares rarely have any crust to hold onto; the larger the pizza, the lower the chance. I find squares an abomination an would rather fold a wedge.
