This is what I think of the Davos conference. A bunch of rich people get together to see how they can make the world a better place, and come to the conclusion that the way they can make the world better is to keep making more money.

As the good folks at Pod Save America put it, conservatives are always in search of "permission structures." Modern Republicans have no policy. It's just a laundry list of pretexts for being a dick. E.g. we don't want to foster a culture of dependence by giving poor kids free lunch.

The entire conservative movement is an exercise in self-absorbed, self-righteous actions. Conservatism in and of itself is a simple attempt to dictate to the masses the will of the vain few.
