So what’s the gender where I like seeing people struggle with classifying me in person, but don’t like being called a man in writing by someone I’ve never met?

All these years on and people still out here thinking that epistemic pluralism— the idea that "there may be multiple right answers"— necessitates epistemic relativism— the idea that "all answers are equally correct". But it doesn't.

One of the best compliments I ever received was a professor telling me I was “one of the most intellectually curious” people she ever met.
I’ve started trying to use “curiosity” as my index, because the genuinely curious will seek and be open to revision while the anti-curious will resist learning. It doesn’t have to do with innate capacity.

I moved two weeks ago and everything is still mostly chaos, but I got the guest room/my home office set up and looking cozy. The art is new, but it’s pretty much exactly what I was envisioning for the guest room before I moved.

Home video tape only has a shelf life of 30-40 years before the plastic backing the magnet strip of the tape begins to break down. An entire generation of people's recorded media will become unrecoverable within the next decade. Digitize it now while you can.
ok i have another quote tweet prompt. what's something, big or small, related to your job or hobby, that most people don't know that you would like to have them know? it can be a concept, a piece of history, some vocabulary, or something else.

There are a thousand (structured) ways to dance both alone and with other people that are not ballet. Considering ballet the foundation of all dance is anachronistic and Eurocentric. The best dance for you is the one that goes with your favorite music.

A moment I now feel old: I see high school seniors jumping around to Hey Ya and I’m like “were they even alive when this was released”. The answer is no, no they were not. I head into a different dance to music released before I was born.
