Yessss, this is the true joy of the game, playing is actually “play” (you don’t have to have a goal other than “this is fun”) instead of just following a plan defined by the game’s creators.
i saw a video yesterday on youtube of someone basically building a flying platform out of two fans and a control stick, then flying around the map.
It's highly amusing watching my husband build an elaborate gadget to get to a treasure chest and find it contains an inferior melee weapon. THIS is the content we crave.

It turns out that when you stream a video game no one is there to watch the gameplay anyway they’re just there to hang out
