Bought a “real” chainsaw. It’s fun, despite the brutal heat this weekend. Didn’t even lose any limbs or digits! Making progress on the large red oak, revealing the hickory underneath and a number of smaller trees damaged or knocked down when the oak fell.
Started trying to buck the fallen trees (big red oak, smaller shagbark hickory fully down, another hickory with a large broken branch still hanging) and my electric chainsaw made it through about 2.5 cuts on a fresh pair of batteries. So I guess I'm buying a big-boy chainsaw this weekend.
Discovered yet another downed tree from the storm, this one over the hill. Probably will have to leave this one where it fell. Root ball is at least 10' high.

Trying to cancel AT&T, and it seems there's no way to unlock the phone I paid for in full. Online tool doesn't work and locked me out, and automated customer service tells me I must use the online tool and hangs up. I swear, if we had functioning regulatory agencies in this country...
It's so satisfying. We'll be working with local green wood at the class next month. I've only turned a small amount of green wood so far but I found it particularly delightful.
