I’m angry and I’m going to make sure every single person I know votes for Biden. Whoever votes 3rd party, whoever stays home, whoever leaves the president unchecked, is explicitly telling the world “I am happy with an emperor Trump, I want to end democracy. Personally.”
I really have lost my former tolerance for "we're doomed/fucked/it's all over/they've won" takes at this point, in that they're the most dangerous attitudes one could possibly have when confronted with a truly existential political threat (which we still DO have levers to address).
"With fear for our democracy, I dissent," is about as bedrock and terrifying and vital a statement as you're going to get. That's a line you spraypaint on walls, that you ink into your skin. And it's chilling that it is necessary to say at all.
And with all of this, the NYT will still clutch its pearls about Biden and never mention the horrors a 2nd Trump admin will now have with absolute immunity for any act.
This. How long before the Supreme Court appends to a case that an “official act” is anything Trump wants to do?
Including decertifying an election he feels he should have won.
Sotomayor: "Today’s decision ... makes a mockery of the principle, foundational to our Constitution and system of Government, that no man is above the law."
BREAKING: The Supreme Court holds, 6-3, that a former president is absolutely immune from prosecution for actions within their "conclusive and preclusive" authority and presumptively immune from prosecution for all official acts.

***SCOTUS rules 6–3 that Trump is immune from prosecution for "official acts" during his presidency.
NOTE: This does not sink Trump's prosecution altogether, because as Justice Barrett noted during argument, Trump is being prosecuted for many *unofficial* acts www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

Need to read more closely but, it looks like the court did not destroy the internet today with the NetChoice decision. They may have actually gotten it right? More analysis later.
First is Corner Post. Barrett has the court's 6-3 ideological decision holding that APA claims accrue from plaintiff's injury, not the date of the final rule — opening up all rules to possible new challenges. Jackson writes the dissent for the liberals. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...
Over the weekend, one of the major party presidential candidates promoted the idea of trying a former congresswoman for treason with televised military tribunals, and I’ll bet you haven’t seen a news article—much less a catastrophizing op-ed—about it.
Good morning to all!
The Romancing the Vote auction is starting today and there are hundreds of items ranging from hand-made crafts to autographed books.
All proceeds benefit Fair Fight and Vote Riders.
This. I have commissioned two pieces from an artist and apparently of everyone he has worked with, I am only the second person to tell him he has his rates too low.
The dude is barely making a living wage already and apparently folks asking for his work are demanding discounts.
Pay your artists.
What Jim Lee has just done for the art community is an absolutely masterful strategic move.
In one post he's re-established art as something of great value at a time when so many people are doing everything to reframe it as valueless
I am in a hotel and the room next to us is blasting their TV at full volume and vibrating our walls.
I want to break through the wall Kool-aid man style and just toss their TV out the window.
Based on how far right the recent decisions have been, I am fully expecting presidential immunity for Trump to be handed down and delivered in a specific way that does not give Biden the same protection.
Not over. As someone alive before Chevron precedent, before legal abortion, before many things being flipped back in time existed, I can say you can fight this war&win it. Again. &this time, people have sunk costs&reaped benefits where before it was theoretical. They will feel&resent the loss.
If I was a foreign power seeking to influence elections, this demand for Biden to resign would be a gift that they can run with until Election Day — guaranteeing their preferred candidate wins.
All of Lower Decks season one is up for free on the P+ YouTube for a limited time (USA).
A great way to intro a friend to the Cerritos!

The worst part in all of this is that the people making these laws:
1. Do not believe what they preach and are only doing this for the votes. They have no moral center.
2. Have almost certainly ensured safe and secure abortion services for their own families, free from prosecution.
Going public with an experience like this is life-altering for a woman, so when you read these stories remember both the extraordinary amount of courage involved and also the likelihood that there are many others you’ll never hear.
Adding Tractor Supply Company to my blacklist. They don’t deserve my business until they reverse these white nationalist and homophobic policies.
I’m not in a rural area, but I do have fish tanks and TSC was reliably a great place to get gear. Not anymore.
I wrote to the Tractor Supply board today. Here is what I sent. Even if you've only ever bought one thing there, I encourage you to write, as a customer.
Remember when a group of crypto bros bought a copy of 'Jodorowsky's Dune' for $3 million (around 100x more than it was worth) thinking they could turn it into NFTs and an animated series because they didn't understand what copyright is?
God Bless Paul Davies and the @PhillyInquirer: "The only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump...There was only one person at the debate who does not deserve to be running for president. The sooner Trump exits the stage, the better off the country will be."
“Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.”
