it was a very good piece of software! it took me forever to find it because of 'mixed up mother goose' and im like no. no it was a different goose.

this was by far my favorite video game as a small kid there's a room in here somewhere where you can edit Gertrude's sprite, and other weird fun little computer toys, that iirc you can get for completing puzzles

no! it just lets you go on in a world strewn with corpses it is a different design lineage; the same one that lets you kill plot-important characters in some Elder Scrolls games

there's very few funnier decisions in video games than Ultima 6/7's Armageddon spell its a spell that kills (almost) every living thing on the planet, taught to you by weird extradimensional creatures who dont seem to get why its dangerous, it doesnt even give u a game over, just a dead world

iirc in 7, three characters who can talk remain: - Lord British (not the only person from another world, but apparently the only one who is absolutely immortal) - the Ferryman (think: Charon) - [minor spoiler] (not 100% sure why he's immortal but he is) and mostly they say "oh, great job idiot"

if they had anglicized the name, like some other former colonial french towns had done, i bet "Monktown, Iowa" would have a sort of character on the national stage. probably lil cartoon guys in brown robes drinking beer but no, they kept the name 'des moines', dooming it to obscurity

theres a tense detente among the gangs of iowa mostly because it takes a long time to get from one part of the state to another driving 45mph

des moines occupies this place in 'american cities' that i adore: there's less than one million people in the metro area and yet almost everyone has heard of it. it's the same size as omaha and albuquerque, but both of those places make u think of something, maybe feel something the moin? nothing
