Penalties are just the worst way to end a soccer match. This is the top level of the sport, and they’re acting like they need to get off the field before the lights are shut off. The NHL gets this right - just keep playing until someone scores!

That man is doing the Doctor Strange infinite-scenarios vision just for chances to get on TV, let alone accrue more power

Just so I understand, you can move under braking repeatedly, take the other guy out of the race, and you end up with a meaningless 10 sec penalty? Seems fair. Great sport you have there.

I have really specific memories of prepping for a cross-country road trip in 1993. Went to AAA for travelers checks and a TripTik (basically paying someone else to print out slightly more detailed MapQuest directions for you). We made zero hotel reservations along the way - just stopped when tired
Let's explain travelers checks to the kids

After that disastrous Monaco GP, Montreal in changeable conditions should be a welcome change of pace!

We’ve upped the stakes now! (I’ll definitely try this and will report back)
Oh we're talking about Maryland? I wrote a love letter to my wife in the form of a bmore bsky feed: bsky.app/profile/did:... If you want more / different terms added to it just let me know!!

I'm a subscriber, and I think supporting this cause is well worth the $5/month. The newsletter is fantasic as well. Subscribing is a great way to celebrate Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈
If you're the sort of person who thinks donating to media organizations you love is great, but you'd kinda like to get something in return, another option is our subscriber's only newsletter, at $5/month. (You get a bonus essay from founder Evan Urquhart every Thursday with this one.)

this is the funniest thing happening on the internet today: people claiming the newly elected president of Mexico isn’t really Jewish because she thanked Jesus (she thanked Jesús, her husband)

Oh, the other thing to consider with a kamado (that I neglected to mention the first time) is that they suck at two-zone cooking. They are great at getting evenly hot throughout, but that comes at the expense of being able to have a hot zone and a cool zone. @politeicecream.bsky.social
I love my Big Green Egg, but I don’t think it’s significantly different from other kamado grills. The game changer for making it easier was the Thermoworks Billows (fan connected to a thermometer), which lets you keep a steady low temp

@politeicecream.bsky.social I'm nowhere near as big of a competitive sailing fan as you are, but this seems crazy!
On Assigned today, Alyssa Steinsiek has a story about a ban on women in specific events for a sport that is more typically mixed gender and has no particular gender advantages or disadvantages. Way to go, sailing. Ride that anti-trans bandwagon! www.assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...
New World Sailing Guidelines Ban Most Trans Women — Assignedwww.assignedmedia.org New participation guidelines published by World Sailing mirror de facto bans on trans women participating in competitive sailing, a move sure to harm cisgender competitors and the sport as a whole.

Post a PERFECT album from the 90s (I’m not going to bash grunge bands)
post a PERFECT album from the 90s that isn’t nirvana or pearl jam or soundgarden or alice in chains (since none of those belong anywhere near the best albums of the 90s):

@callmemrwiggles.bsky.social Might be able to see this from your place since they’re going from Frederick to DC
People of DC: look up in the skies at 1pm today! (I'm really sorry not to be able to see this.) Has been practically impossible for planes like this to fly over DC since 2001. Enjoy. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

1976 must have been a hell of a time. You could be a saxaphone player for a massively popular rock band and wear an unzipped jogging suit with a saxaphone on it. Immaculate vibes all around.

@callmemrwiggles.bsky.social I knew there had to be a bullshit evolutionary psychology reason for car guys to exist!
