Nice to see a Democrat not deciding on an outcome ahead of time and choosing not to act as a result. Just getting this stuff into the ether is important. AOC gets it.
Good for her. Do it.

It’s gonna drive conservatives nuts. Good. Now we gotta get all the other Democrats in the Senate and House to back her. Of course, that won’t happen because when the party has become such a big tent, there’s more in-fighting than fighting against the clear and present danger of SCOTUS/Trump(ism)

Memo to anyone in that position again: Gorsuch's seat could have been Merrick Garland, and Barrett's seat could have been whomever Obama chose if Ginsburg had stepped down at 83, in 2016. Then it would be 5/4 for a long time, and we'd be less scared of losing the whole shebang. Grim, avoidable...

...and the only silver lining is that watching the hard right and big money operate is a reminder that you can actually get things done. So, at least we know it's possible to get things done.
What position is this that would get Garland seated on the Court in 2016?

Perhaps that wouldn't have worked, in which case we'd be 5/4 the other way. But it's a good reminder of the way one side plays hardball, dating back to the 2000 election at least.

What, you didn't like Dick Durbin's statement? "See, if we had subpoenaed them this would have been much worse!"
