Yup... They get no amplification here and with no algorithm, one would have to actively search for what they're spewing. I think I've run into 2 (in the discover feed) that were obvious insta-blocks, since it opened up

There's a pull request (a suggested change to the codebase) on GitHub written by @ryanskinner.com that does exactly that. The developers are very busy at the moment but hopefully they'll review it soon 🤞

While we're making Dev requests... It is pretty unintuitive how to get to the comments in a post, especially a picture post. Click comments button, you get to write a comment. Click the image, you get the image. Click the EMPTY SPACE, ohhhh, comments.

Yeah it's just so frustrating. This was just a place of fun and shitposting until a few weeks ago and now it's all bad takes, fake news and endless soapboxing about political shit. I'm wearing the block button out. It's not even a left/right thing either. More a tedious/aggressive thing.

Feels there's this broken expectation for the last decade, that's what short-form social media *is*, and it's the assumption that's only what it exists for - they never engaged with it at a level before it was that. I just want to interact with people who enjoy what I enjoy.

It wasn't open when I joined though. It was invite only. So most people were pretty civil and chill.

Even then it is unrealistic to expect a wonderland. And even then it was clear it will open one day.

I came here for the art and I have to say ever since I first got here last year, it was always hugely political from the left. Especially when this site basically openly supports attacking/blocking/blacklisting anyone from the middle/right. Sure you can block those people, but that was like 70% 🟦☁️
