This is a horrendous misunderstanding of the problem, particularly in West Coast cities
It isn’t a lack of $, it’s a lack of political will from neighbors and municipalities to realize there’s alternatives to single-family housing and *allow them to be built to begin with*
I’m gonna be honest here, being *in* a blue collar union myself, a lot of animus against democratic admins is usually:
“We’re being overtaxed”
“I don’t like this woke shit”
I’m sorry but rich people existing does not and should not exempt the rest of us from contributing to society, particularly if the policy is to limit personal vehicle traffic in urban centers with alternative means of transit
