I used to work at this place called Seven Falls in Colorado Springs. They literally sold food you could feed to the munks and there was a constant swarm of like 20 of them near the snack bar where I was a cashier. If you at all like munks you would have lost your mind at this place. They're so cute.
St. Elmo's in Colorado. They expect to be fed, will sit on your lap, your head, whatever as long as you feed them. Especially cool to watch them train their children to go to humans.
And they do know how to go off and eat on their own as well - humans just keep them fat. Local store sells food.
The first time my inlaws came up to visit us from NOLA we took them to the cemetery for a nice walk. They were both amazed to learn chipmunks aren't an invention of the Walt Disney Corporation.
My grandfather hated squirrels but held a special affection for chipmunks. He built the chipmunks a little brick tunnel so they could get across the yard and not be at risk from hawks. It even had a “chipmunk crossing” sign on the entrance and exit.
Lol i catch them in live traps around here (because they eat all my strawberries and are always trying to tunnel into the house) and release them into a nearby cemetery, i probably know that guy.
