this is one of my least favorite tropes and it is especially ridiculous when the heroes have just shot their way through an army of mooks to get to the villain
oh, you can kill 475 henchmen but the guy who is actually responsible for ordering them around is a step too far? do you hear yourself? the whole ‘actually, killing the villain makes us just as bad as him’ trope had done incomprehensible damage to society and i’m not kidding 57 179 1076
I liked the Expanse's "you're not that guy, you're not that guy"
Beat
"I am that guy" 4 2 58
Amos is an all timer for many reasons but that's high on the list 2 40
this moment in permanent villain removal 2 1 10
On Buffy, Giles killing Ben 13
That was honestly one of the best scenes from Magnum PI and you genuinely felt the character had earned that dark moment. 4
Also Miller killing Head Protomolecule Experimentation Guy while everyone else was standing around doing the "wait, let's hear him out" thing. 4
Perfect example! Prax never kills anyone as far as I know.
Amos, though.. 1
Amos is such a good character. To be fair all The Expanse characters are amazing 1
Excellent writing, but the casting for the show was *outstanding*. 1 3
Absolutely. They nailed the casting for the show 100%
