Functional political systems are *supposed to be* boring! It should be sewage specialists arguing over what size pipe is most efficient for the city layout! It should be debates over whether to put a mural or a frieze in the new park! “Interesting politics” are when people start dying!

We have so much available drama, fictional and non-fictional, in our lives; why should politics and governance be interesting and dramatic? It takes a special kind of sick freak to want this.

It’s because these dipshits are incapable of reporting on actual policy. They can’t understand it and they certainly can’t explain it in a compelling manner. But expressing opinions about personalities and catfights, and repeating talking points, that they *can* do
