This is basically a more succinct and less spluttering version of what I said when I cancelled my @nytimes.com subscription a few days ago. (I wish I'd managed to call out their pattern of transphobia as well.)

The main lesson of the French election is true of the US as well: there are more of us than there are of them. We just need solidarity and cooperation.

Project 2025 is the real story in US politics right now—it's become a wake-up call for voters, so Republicans are panicking and trying to run away from it. But they can't, because they wrote it and it's on the record. Make them wear it like a scarlet letter.

One of the ways the far right wins is by inducing despair - you feel victory by Le Pen, Reform, Trump etc is inevitable and what difference will your vote make (eg that scandalous NYT ‘why I don’t vote’ piece). IGNORE THIS. Look at Labour or France - just f-ing vote for the good guys and they win.
