My friend saw his first Cybertruck in Michigan last week and CALLED ME ON THE PHONE

Can I ask which city?

I'm expecting one to show up at Art Fair in Ann Arbor this year and my dream is to be part of a crowd that rises as one giant Nelson Muntz.

Lol that thing won't last through November in Michigan

I saw my first one in Chicago in March and it looked pretty bad
Unfortunately this is true.... I saw one on I94 yesterday near where it passes 11mile road.

I really fucking loathe the car companies but this would be a beautiful time for their supporters to cause some chaos

There are at least three in Grand Rapids, and that is entirely too many.

I saw one in the Trader Joe's parking lot in GR on Sunday. That was NOT where I would have expected to see one, tbh. It was amusing to see people pointing and staring (or trying not to stare) - which both seemed like appropriate responses.

There's one that parks behind a pizza shop on 44th and Eastern, and there's definitely one in the office park by the airport where their CNC shop is. Almost every time I've seen one it's been in Cascade, with exception to the one in Kentwood. Weird!
Do they still oversalt the roads there? Please? Maybe just run a salt truck right in front, all day long?

We'd need to get more snow! Last couple of years have been pretty light 😮‍💨

The one time I saw one in CA a few months ago, I gasped so loud and pointed. My friend thought I had seen an alien.
Avatar
I only see them on I-35, where I do my best to avoid them (except for when they're on the back of a much safer, not tesla vehicle.
Avatar
I think that might be the only reason any of my friends would call me on the phone at this point.
Avatar
Wait till you see one at night. The front headlight is just a big wide LED bar that looks like a cheap fluorescent light from a medical office stuck on the front of the car and somehow manages to make the entire contraption look even cheaper and seedier
Avatar
Seconded. And it's inexplicably convex in shape, which doesn't fit in with the rest of the partially-rendered-90's-era-cg vibe.

In SF, I see them more or less every other week now, and each time I keep thinking about how much these people are desperately trying to be cool, and have spent gobs of money on a car that screams they are dorks desperately trying to be cool.
Seen Cybertrucks a few times while commuting in San Francisco and the thing I keep thinking is the absurdity of someone with an SF garage large enough to hold this monstrosity choosing to pay for a "truck".
Avatar
It's all ostentation and nothing about the vehicle being functional

The "(weather dependent)" in tiny font is killing me

Does the wedding experience come with a list of couples’ counselors in the area lol
Avatar
when i first saw one, he was slowing coming around a turn in a parking lot and my heart stopped. like seeing that one person you got into a big fight with and hoped to never see again.
Avatar
Saw my first one yesterday. It was going under 60mph in the fast lane, fucking up the entire freeway.
Avatar
classic cybertruck behavior
Avatar
Definitely regular level of Tesla driver douche behavior turned up to 11.
Avatar
Same. I was at a medical center, and it was so incongruous that for a second I wondered why there was a military vehicle driving through the hospital parking area. It's an aggressive aesthetic for sure.
Avatar
The weird part is that it also simultaneously looks like something someone built in their garage in their spare time; they didn't have any way of bending the metal, and just slapped it together. 🤷‍♀️
Avatar
my favorite part was how visible the finger prints on the door were.

I sat in a Cybertruck at a gaming convention in Milwaukee. The entire roof is made of glass and I’d rather not sit in one ever again. Just a lot of stupid design choices overall.
Avatar
Was it at MCG? My husband was there and was texting me pics. He said it was more awful in person than he expected.
Avatar
Yup, that’s where I saw it
Avatar
We have a Freedom Fighter that owns one here in Central WI... he'll even deliver his own roasted coffee to your door within a 10 mile radius before he has to fill up on gas.
Avatar
This was my 2nd time seeing one, but it was my wife's first time. I put it in the alt text of the pic, but she couldn't remember the name of it so, to get my attention, she pointed and said "hey, it's that dumb car!"
OF. FUCKING. COURSE.
Avatar
I saw my first one too in Vegas! Honestly the only city it fits in.
Avatar
I was actually kind of shocked that it wasn't an Uber or covered in advertisements
Avatar
A Cybertruck passes us every now and then as I take my 7 year old son to school. Every time he sees it, my son says "Ugh, there goes the dumb truck."
Avatar
“It looks like if Hot Wheels made a VHS rewinder” nearly made me fall out of my chair & I thank you
Avatar
I finally walked by one in a parking lot this week and involuntarily snorted. It looked like if you put a chrome toaster into The Fly transporter with the Fox football robot. None of its proportions make sense.
Avatar
The 7 people who have seen Freejack love this shit. Thank you.

Spending some time this morning trying to remember if I saw that in an actual theater.

I saw it in the theater and I REWATCHED it aroud a year ago I think
