It's a three-box day at SCOTUS, so we're expecting up to 6 opinions.

Breaking: The Supreme Court, 8-1, upholds the federal ban on possession of a firearm by those with a domestic violence order out against them. Thomas is the lone dissenter.

Chief Justice Roberts has the opinion for the court. 18 U.S.C. Section 922(g)(8) is upheld. Five other justices filed concurring opinions.

That is the final decision of the day. The next decision day is Wednesday.

Based on in quick reading of this- state law requiring insurance for firearm possession would meet muster ( except for Thomas, of course). Pretty explicitly.

Initially when I saw this I was happy. Now I’m thinking this is ridiculous. Obviously shouldn’t be allowed to have guns if domestic violence order. That’s common sense! Shouldn’t need to go to Supreme Court with everyone on pins and needles!
