Alaska as a (sub?) tropical climate would be rather interesting.

We'd have the Siberian Rainforest. The Great Saharan Tundra. There would have been a time where the Vikings were tropical pirates and Europeans explorers found the new world by sailing across the Pacific to find the East Indies. This is incredibly cool conceptually.
