Look, I’ve made it a practice to not care about individuals pirating my books, and to make my books available DRM free everywhere possible, for a lot of reasons, including my not actually caring and also not having any executive function.

Right, so this is the story of the old mate I was out with last night, didn't happen to me, but too good not to repeat. Will probably only work for the Brit adjacent.

Okay, so. We philosophers call this epistemic injustice and epistemic violence. Epistemic injustice is an injustice that centers on attacking a person’s status as a knower. Epistemic violence is wielding one’s status as a knower to do harm to someone else as a knower.
I don't talk about what I know about certain shit on here because your knowledge and understanding is never good or pure enough for white people. They think they set the standards for respect and objectivity, and dictate the means of analyzing things. Like they invented science or thinking. Miss me.

In an ideal world, there would be arts funding. There'd be grants and universal income for everyone to help artists art harder. That's not the real world. The arts are undervalued, they're trying to replace us with robots. We're struggling and a lot of people think that's just fine.

#WeAreFamily by Louise Walters. I've finished it the other day, and this has got to be my favorite from Louise so far. Perfect for readers who are in a bit of a reading slump (short chapters and no fluff ftw), and those interested in concepts of friendships and family. #booksky 💙📚

Stars and planets, THIS. This FOREVER. And also the missing art of folks who were passed over and shut out because such men didn't want to fuck them in the first place and therefore just utterly ignored them
Hot take: I'm truly not interested in hand wringing over how much people will miss enjoying the books of men who have turned out to be abusers. I'm far more concerned about the missing art that women haven't been able to create/publish because they crossed paths with such men.

After a long time enjoying hexagon for free. I'm ponying up. Don't forget to support the art you want.
June was Hexagon’s lowest earning month since May of 2023. Funding a free magazine requires support from the community! 🧡 In the next few months we have our Year Four anthology, a new issue in September, and FOUR new MYRIAD Zines (with calls coming soon)!

This is a fantastic piece on the catastrophically wasteful bullshit bubble of AI.
Newsletter: Goldman Sachs has called BS on Generative AI, and I believe that it's time that everybody follows suit - generative AI is unreliable, unsustainable, requires an entire rebuild of America's power grid, and is most decidedly not the future. www.wheresyoured.at/pop-culture/
Pop Culturewww.wheresyoured.at A week and a half ago, Goldman Sachs put out a 31-page-report (titled "Gen AI: Too Much Spend, Too Little Benefit?”) that includes some of the most damning literature on generative AI I've ever seen. ...
