My "Secret Project" is A SECRET NO MORE!

'Smile' Author and Illustrator Raina Telgemeier Announces New Kids Graphic Novel with Scott McCloud (Exclusive)people.com The writer and illustrator is teaming up with author Scott McCloud to publish a new graphic novel for young readers, 'The Cartoonists Club,' which will publish in spring 2025.

Raina and I collaborated closely on the layouts and script. Raina then drew the real-life scenes and I got to draw all the kids' artwork, plus some fun extras. AND it was inked and colored by the amazing team of Ray Baehr - @cavetoonist.bsky.social - and Beniam Hollman - @bennygum.bsky.social . :-)

This sounds like a super fun way to do a collaboration!

I didn't even think to mention it because I've known for so long but this project is such an ambitious undertaking, and I can't wait to see how it encourages young creatives!!!

Raina was my kid's absolute favorite for a long time, and he also ran off with my copy of Understanding Comics during the same period. He's a bit older than the target audience at this point, but I know he'll be excited to share this with his younger cousins.
