Drove into New Hampshire today, and immediately saw a “Democrats Will Protect Your Reproductive Rights” billboard with an American flag and a bald eagle on it, from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
Excellent work. More of that please.
I remember working at a remote work camp, and one of the cleaning staff put up a sign saying "Do not spit in the showers." Someone helpfully wrote in answer "It's not spit."
Listen, you only have to have one fire-spitting rap battle break out in your restroom to have it be enough. Do you know what a singed urinal cake smells like?
Folks really do respond to Bald Eagles.
I’ve had calls from people who were IRATE because of bad service who completely turned around when I told them there was an eagle nest on a tower so our only solution was just to build a new tower, despite that being something that would take like a year.
On the west coast pretty much any “there’s protected animal nest there, sorry” works, but even someone who’d be down with nuking the whales seems to respond well to “so, uh, Bald Eagle nest”.
Plus it’s really fun when the next question is “where is it?”
In the spring, if there was ever a slow news day, my local morning news program would just throw up an eagle nest stream a couple of times an hour to fill time. Worked like a charm
