Funny thing. I posted a backer update about being happy that the Esquire list included writers working in this century, like NK Jemisin & Becky Chambers Then 3 dudes immediately cancelled their pledges. I suspect they would not have liked my book. Also, we still unlocked the next stretch goal.

Hamburger patty recipe trick! You will need a pair of matching plates, like Corelle dinner plates, and a couple of sheets of wax paper. 1) Roll the beef into a ball 2) Press it into a disc on the wax paper on one plate. 3) Put another sheet atop, then press it flat with the other plate.

UPDATE: I had burgers with the family during daylight hours, and then I stayed inside and listened to the neighbors set off various explosions. I don't feel like I missed out. I've had some *AMAZING* fireworks experiences over the years, I don't need to try to top them. Their memory carries.

I like fireworks, but I like people more. If people have problems with fireworks (including pet problems), I can do without.

Hamburger question: What's your preference for the size of the patty w/re the size of the bun? A) Patty is smaller, for the "tidy sandwich" B) Equal size, for the "layer-cake" effect C) Patty is bigger, for that "luxury carnivore" look

I like fireworks, but I like people more. If people have problems with fireworks (including pet problems), I can do without.
