Millennials make fun of Boomers for having a bunch of collectibles that no one will want when they die but it's better than what Gen Alpha's inheritance will be: a bunch of flattened Amazon cardboard boxes in the garage that their Millennial parents have been meaning to get rid of for thirty years.
Boomers: owns their house
GenX: owns a car and a bunch of collectibles
Millenials: owns some furniture and a TV
GenZ: owns their phone
GenAlpha: owns nothing, everything is a subscription
Shhh, we all know GenAlpha will be inheriting a *lot* of old terabyte hard drives with an immense amount of cultural value (and malware infections and porn, too, but let's think on the happier side).
to my darling children, I leave all that I have in the world: an original copy of The Sims, and a save game from before the final boss in final fantasy 7
Gen Z better hope for something to entertain themselves in the future. I feel bad they kinda _don't_ have the 80s/90s type fun I got to have, live it thru actual eyeballs (not phones), become adult, have the enthusiasm and means to buy it back cuz it was physical goods that still work mostly.
Huh, I'm a millennial and never said that, and collect things. Many of the others around me whom also are millennials also never did that, some collectors and some not.
I think you confused Gen Z.
