The consumer protection message in this book is so important to me. And just important. Thank you!
With the rising popularity of "raw milk" & other anti-public health nonsense, and the recent SCOTUS reversal of Chevron, my summer reading recommendation is The Poison Squad by @deborahb.bsky.social, chronicling the many ways consumer products used to harm & kill Americans before the Food & Drug Act
What Are Doctors and Nurses Reading This Summer?t.co From a fictional family saga to tales of the emergency department, the list runs the gamut

Yep.
The biggest disaster of the last 24 hours is actually the Supreme Court ruling that overturns 40 years of deference to the expertise of regulators in cases about pollution, drug safety, food safety, climate change — you name it, the Court just gelded it. Even if Biden is reelected, we're weakened.

Gift Article wapo.st/3RtNYzl — Alarmingly, many of these young, sporadic voters in key states don't know which Presidential candidate is defending democracy and which would attempt to create an authoritarian state. Really an outstanding piece from @gregsargent.bsky.social which enumerates some of the worst media habits we see in the New York Times, among other places, which serve to artificially level the playing field in an election where, sadly and to our misfortune, there is only one sane choice

This story wrecks one of Trump's biggest scams: The idea that he is putting his knowledge of elite corruption and self-dealing to work for the "forgotten." It shows him milking the inside game for his own corrupt benefit with extraordinary clarity. 5/5 newrepublic.com/article/1814...
