The plan is simple: defeat the fascists, save democracy, and get away with the cash. You want in?

Vance said Trump could be America’s Hitler. Trump took that as a huge compliment. Now you’re caught up.

If Trump wins, to address the “it won’t be that bad” crowd, ok… for the sake of argument (really really myopic bad argument) let’s say he fails to implement almost all the most pathetic sickest shit in the trump/gop policy agenda. You know what he is gonna pull off? Shutting down federal criminal…

What he said 👇
The thing about a bunch of malevolent nitwits spending the day hyperventilating about completely standard campaign advance work is that Donald Trump is trying to destroy American democracy and claim for himself unchecked power the likes of which we fought a revolution to escape.

Gift article, anyone can read. It's highly unlikely any Republican / MAGA could ever be trusted again, it's all a lie. They are likely the most extreme coalition of people in the country's history.
Opinion | Trump doesn’t want Americans to know what Republicans stand forwapo.st The former president wants the 2024 GOP platform to be anodyne, but don’t be fooled. He has an extreme agenda.

“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.
This!! Start with “they want to end no fault divorce, sell national parks, and ban porn” end with tax structure.

I will bang this drum forever: in THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE FREE: THE GERMANS, 1933-45 Milton Mayer interviewed 10 ordinary Germans after WW2 to learn how fascism took hold. There was never a moment when everyone woke up:

I have no idea the best path re Biden but I do know a solid week straight of “Biden Old” and “Rich Dems Worried” above-the-fold stories are *obscene* in the face of SCOTUS using the Constitution to wipe their asses purely in the service of reinstating a felon rapist as president. Crazy-making shit.

In this house we know who the real villain of US history is.
Watching the British election returns I feel compelled to point out that the 650 person House of Commons represents 67 million people and the 435 person House of Representatives in the United States represents 333 million. Replace the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929. We deserve representation.

I understand how juicy the “is Biden too old?” story is for The New York Times and the Washington Post but there’s also the story that one political party is promising to end democracy. They might want to write some more stories about that.

As far as I'm concerned anyone telling people not to vote, in this election or any other, is doing for malign purposes, and the only correct response is "Well now I am going to vote EVEN HARDER."
see also the posts floating around pointing out that the author of that piece has voted in the last few elections according to voter records

Tom - I'm doing a sort of social media bombing with this Twitter thread from Aaron Fritchner, an aide to Rep. Don Beyer. I want as many people as possible to know just how the MSM is doing to Joe Biden what they did to Hillary Clinton: Link to original Twitter thread: x.com/Fritschner/s...

There are other characters? Oh right, series regulars and rotating guest stars. They’re nice, but so many names.
I'm not the main character. I'm... wait. I'm being handed a note. Apparently I **am** the main character.

During Trump's entire time in office there were no editorials from NYT demanding he resign, after everything he did. They only write such editorials if they think they can draw blood. They didn't want to look stupid, so didn't bother. It's not about doing the right thing. It's only about THEM.

I worry sometimes that my criticism of the NYT is written off as disgruntled former employee whining. Please listen when us former employees say that with a legacy like this, the shit there runs deep.
This is beyond the normalization of publications like the Times at the time. But the Times specifically was wrong on Hitler, wrong on MLK Jr, wrong on Ida B Wells, wrong on the famine in ukraine, wrong on weapons of mass destruction. Being wrong somehow isn't disqualifying.
