i’ll tell you what, man, if biden manages to survive and win another term, i hope he and his aides remember that it was mostly the ancient centrists — not the progressives and not the younger dems — who came behind up him with the knives, and that he responds in kind.
notably, “trying to assemble” and “has assembled” are two extremely different things and if he were able to do the latter, his ratshit ass wouldn’t be leaking the former.

"Executive Time" fell out of the coverage of Donald Trump in the most incredible way. Nobody writing about his quest to become president again ever mentions the fact that he hated the job when he had it and he couldn't and wouldn't really do it!
The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? Dude was categorically unable to fulfill any of the demands of the office and the press barely cared

Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

Just called Anna Eshoo. My script was just a bit too long to fit in a skeet, so attaching it as an image.

If you haven’t called your senators and congressperson, take five minutes to ask them to support Liz Warren & AOC’s calls for impeachment of justices and expansion of the court.

Watching the British election returns I feel compelled to point out that the 650 person House of Commons represents 67 million people and the 435 person House of Representatives in the United States represents 333 million. Replace the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929. We deserve representation.

Are you a registered Democrat? Are you represented by any Dems in the U.S. House of Representatives or the Senate? How about your governor? Today is an excellent day to reach out and leave a voicemail about any pressing concerns you may have....
If you're a member of a political party (i.e. a registered voter), and you want to communicate something important to your party's leadership, reaching out to any federal electeds who are also members of your party (congress, senate) or any statewide official (governor) is a way to communicate

Wow, real banana republic stuff. I'm glad our presidents can launder money and associate criminally without worrying about this kind of thing.

It's pretty interesting what the media decides is front page news and what they don't decide is front page news! Trump being a child sex abuser with close connections to Jeffrey Epstein somehow doesn't merit the same coverage as "unnamed Dem insider has concerns about Biden's age"
I saw this was trending and had to google it "The post alleges that Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for this year's presidential election, "forced" young girls to "perform lesbian sex acts."
Donald Trump, Katie Johnson allegations: Everything we knowwww.newsweek.com Allegations from a lawsuit that was dismissed in 2016 are circulating on social media.

Like remembering that before unions, a lot of folks worked 6 or 7 days a week, it's worth remembering that before environmental movements, the air and water in a lot of places were fucking gross. Left to their own devices, companies just straight-up poisoned people. They will again if we let them.
It's worth googling the Great Smog of London to see how far we've come. Images like this from the 1950s. It was caused in part from burning coal

Why I Don't Vote (OK, I Do Vote, but I Would Like to Discourage You, NY Times Reader, For Doing So For Some Reason) Via @bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us
Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

The romance of inspiration never changes as a writer - being struck by an idea on an evening walk. Rushing home, brain spinning threads faster than you can remember them. Opening the computer with relish for once, not dread, only to be met with a mandatory software update. Just like Fitzgerald.

Every so often I miss doing Disaster Girls because cinema like this must be celebrated
Watched this recently. Rated less than 5 on IMDb but didn’t think it was that bad. Kind of an artsy film but was filmed on location in a town not too far from me and we’ve been to the place they holed up in. That was cool. #Oneonta #SecretCaverns www.imdb.com/title/tt1283...

the number of consistent investigations of police all over the country that all find misconduct is why we need to abolish them everywhere
